Afternoon All,

I am thinking about upgrading and getting my commercial ticket. I keep losing out on big lucrative jobs in big mansions in my area. It's really frustrating when the installation is just a slightly too big for my residential qualifications...

anyhow, before I bite off more than I can chew, I thought it would be wise to do some homework. That means reading.

Can anyone recommend some literature? The modern kind with colours and pictures. Not the dry stuffy tombs...

Viper publications has been mentioned before.

Thanks All!

J

You can go upto 50kw with a boiler and 20kw cooker or 70kw on a Dom qualification

how big are these houses

I would also suggest you look at gaining expertise in heat pump technology and MCS certification. That geographical area has a lot of opportunities for conversion from oil / gas to water (particularly open loop) and ground source systems. They generally justify themselves on fuel savings alone even before you apply the Govt. incentives - whatever they will be in the future.

Air source is a more competitive market and generally not the technology of choice on 40kW plus systems.
