What determines whether you need to be Commercial Gas Registered and Domestic Registered? Is it down to what you are installing? Or where? ie. Offices

Reason I ask is called to a job for one of customers today but its at his work office. Existing set up is a huge hot water cylinder open vented providing hot water to only 4 sinks! lol Wants to change hot water to a Gas Fired Multi Point Water heater as cylinder is obviously a waste.

Now I'm not Gas Safe myself so will need to get someone in with me but I'm unsure as to whether I need a Commercial Gas Safe or will a Domestic Gas Safe to help?

Apologies if this is a silly question but the Boiler they've bought seems to me that it's only a Domestic type, nothing industrial at all as only feeding 4 sinks.

Hope this makes sense. Cheers

If the appliance is a commercial appliance
If the pipework exceeded 0.0035m3
If the pipe size exceeded 35mm
If the meter is bigger than a u16

Property does not make any difference

If it was a high rise office block. U6 meter. 0.0010m3 of pipe. 22mm pipe and a ferroli domicompact f24b. It's domestic

But if it was supplied by a u160. Then it's commercial

Think it's best for me to just get someone gas safe to have a look! Lol though to my untrained eye the meter looks standard, the new boiler is a main gas fired multi point water heater, and the cold main to tap into is 22mm? thanks Simon . Can't believe the size of the hot and cold pipes! At least 42mm copper feeding six toilets and 4 sinks! Crazy
