Hot tub boiler setup

View the thread, titled "Hot tub boiler setup" which is posted in Boiler Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hi all.

So I have an inflatable hot tub circa 1000ltrs which I bought an LPG (Cavan style) boiler and made it into a heating system for the tub which worked great. I have a pump that draws water from the hot tub and pushes it through the boiler and then returns it to the HT.

The garden is having a shift around and I have a shed which will now house the boiler (obviously with a flue etc) however the hot tub is also going near a gas line that runs into the house for the mains which has led me to think about buying a cheap/second hand natural gas boiler and doing the same but plumbing it into the mains instead of having to buy patio gas bottles at like £55 per refill. (Obviously via a gas safe fitter)

Questions for the pros...
1. Is using mains gas likely to be more cost effective than buying and using 13kg refills with the LPG? I'm not sure how much gas I use as it hasn't been set up for a while but lb for lb what are your cost thoughts?
2. Are there any obvious pitfalls (regs) or dangers that you can foresee with this idea?
3. The gas line is on the opposite side to the shed so if needed could it be fitted 'outside', albeit in some sort of waterproof enclosure?

I look forward to any advice you could offer me.
Thanks.
