Right guys I am up dating my heating system over the next few weeks ( had one of the lads run 28mm gas line today just to get ahead)
I am fitting the following system can anyone improve on it ?
System condensing boiler with weather compensation.(Baxi Megaflow)
Unvented cylinder.
Evacuated tube (heat pipe) solar.
All rooms have TRVs except where stats are
Bedroom zone controlled by programmable room stat (Danfos 9000 with HW time switch controlling HW zone as well)
Bathroom zone (2 bathrooms and airing cupboard) controlled with programmable room stat (Danfos TP5000) with remote sensor in a bathroom
Down stairs zone controlled with programmable room stat( Danfos TP5000)

Sounds top notch spec to me, Id personally look at polypipes overlay underfloor heating system, gets heat into rooms more effectively and therefore uses less energy. Id also make sure you put a decent inhibitor in, and possibly get your insulation checked, less heat loss means less heat needed in the first place.

Underfloor heating is out out (except for one room in the future plans) I should have put it in when I built the house. Upstairs rooms are all solid oak and Im not lifting it.
Main large bathroom will get underfloor when its next overhauled.

Depending on what type of skirting boards youve already got down you could try the discrete heat stuff instead of ripping up your oak flooring mate, works in a similar way ie heat rises so if you start with the heat at the bottom your onto a winner.

HI there All

I too am looking for some advice with regards to using the polypipe overlay system using porcelain tiles. I am looking to use this in our kitchen but I understand that whilst I would like to run the tiling all the way through the kitchen, I do not install this under the kitchen floor. with this in mind someone has suggested to me that I should ply the floor immediately below the kitchen in place of the polypipe and then use the overlay around the kitchen floor area. My concern is that both underfloor heating and ply floor will move differently and may cause potential cracking in the tiling. Would anyone have any experience of using polypipe underfloor in kitchens moreover tiling over

Many thanks
