A kind gent has agreed to let me gain work experience with him. But there's a problem!

I need a CSCS card. Can anyone tell me how I get one, how many tests I need to complete etc.

Then what card you can get varies depending on what quals you have.

You normally do it at a theory place like your driving theory, We do any way...It's just scenario's and multiple choice pal.

should be able to do the provisional card which last 6 months while your finishing your level 2

Ive just had the info through as mines due for renewal ;(

Looks like at level 2 you can go for the BLUE card. when you get full level 3 you can go for GOLD which covers you for supervisory as well. Not sure if these cards take into account the difference between tech cert only or full framework including NVQ.

Oh and revise, there a good construction skills book with multiple choice questions in each section and answers in the back. Think you need too study the 'Plumbing' and 'H&S' sections ! Thanks lads rang JIB they said I can get a trainee card for £20 because I haven't finished level 3. Have you been in a similar position because I haven't done NVQ (not my fault) otherwise I hope I can get a blue card.

Basically I rang a local plumber he said I can go with him but I need a CSCS card.

For me to go on site he needs to employ me according to JIB . But I'm only looking for work experience for free is there anyway around this?

Im not on a nvq.
