Just had a call from a custard, toilet won't fill, can I go to look.

Yep- £30 call out or I'll price to fix there and then.

How much to fix?

Don't know, maybe £40/£50

That's too much.

Ok, my toilet works, no problems.

So will you come to look.

Yep, £30 call out.

I can't pay its too much,

Ok, no problems.

Will you fix it.

Yep but I need to look and ....

She wanted me to fix the flush issue for a tenner!!!!!!

Good one, I'm quiet but even I'm not that desperate!!!!

Happy Sunday all.

I never answer my phone on a Sunday, always let it go to answerphone. Then if it's something good I can ring them back, if it's an idiot like this I can ring them back tomorrow and say I was out all day and left my phone at home.

Can I ask how you do your call out fee. I don't know why but I confuse myself with call out fees.

So £50 call out fee.
Does that cover an hours labour.

Or is it £50 quid to turn up. Then you say it will be £40 quid to fix your whatever

So total bill for an hours work = £90

call out fee is just to turn up. work is then charged extra

Call fee is just to take the call. Engineer dispatch allocation charge - me to call one of chumps, engineer unsocial working time adjustment - for being expected to go to a job at 17.01 on a week day!

Where I work now weekends are just another day of the week. They are paid at single time. Times are changing. Employers have the power. If you don't like it ,tough. Trouble is these people have to pay for plumbers to fix their problems and it's not easy. I earn less now than I did 10 years ago.

I don't do call outs as a rule, but got a call yesterday. Aparantly the heating system I fitted six months ago was leaking by the boiler and pouring through the ceiling.
So I drive the ten mile or so with my Mrs words ringing in my ears, don't be long we're going out.
i get there and it's a damp patch! And to add insult to injury it was a leaking fecking waste pipe!

Meh! Seriously, we weighed up the extra money to be made by working Saturdays for the benefit if the likes if you, against the quality of life benefits to us of lying in bed of a weekend.

You lost. 🙂
