Cylinder stabbings...

Evening all..

Kinda a gripe conjoined with a question but does anyone know why cylinder stabbings i.e cold feed, hws return, flow and return are rarely square on a cylinder?
Doesn’t seem to matter what brand I’ve come across they’re always off-set?

To be honest, I haven't seen any square fittings on a cylinder, I can imagine they'd be a pain to thread fittings onto too. I prefer the round ones and I'm pleased the square ones are rare 😀

Because when the fittings are brazed in they don't hold them in a jig.
