My 8am job wouldn't let me in, apparently they wasn't aware I was coming and even thought the job would have taken 10 minutes they still told me to sling me hook! 😡

Then I went to pick up parts for my second job and was told the tap was discontinued by Bristan, even though I ordered it online and it said it was in stock. Tried to order a replacement and Bristan do not do one!!! Grrrr

Third job went fine.

Fourth job, had to take off a cistern on a closed couple WC and some trade before had literally mastic'd the cistern to the pan so it took me about 30 mins to seperate the bugger. Changed the siphon and while getting it out I broke the ballvalve so had to replace that too. Put it all back and flushed only to see a few litres escape from the back of the pan. Took it apart and replaced the doughnut washer and all was well in the world. Still didn't fix the issue of a crap pan not clearing contents.

Fifth job was a rad install which went fine until I realised I'd hung a double panel where a single panel was and the tails were 20mm out. Plumb centre are a pile of cr@p as I ordered a single panel. I was just too much in a rush to register I was hanging it until it was too late.

Left my house at 7am, returned at 8pm.

Time for alcohol I think!!!!

Just needed to vent 😉

you do far too much work 😉

I've already started on the wine. Off to walk the dog, get my tapemeasure from the van, wash 3 days worth of dirty dishes and get ready for gas course tomorrow and exams... all while drinking more wine of course 😉

Mate, I had to replace a basin bottle trap the other day, took off the trap and the pipe coming out from the plasterboard wall just shot forward.. Had to cut a hole in the board to reconnect it to the stack - whoops!!!

been in the hospital all day with my mum, managed to go out for 3 hours change a ev and prv in a duotec and fit a new bristan tap with copper tails made of tin foil cant even cut them with a slice FFS

Spent 3 hours trying to stop an O ring on a Glowworm from leaking........in,out,in,out,in,out

Used to really wind me up when people don't let you in. On private never happened much but on housing association happened all the time.

Job 4 I would of replaced doughnut washer straight away any way. I hate it when people silicone them although I will admit when I was on price work on site I used to do it.

Job 5. Don't blame plumb centre as you should of noticed. I a always have a pad and note down what part is required for where and part numbers. It cuts down on turning up with wrong part I used to do that all the time but since then I have only done it a couple of times. When your nearest merchant is 30 mins away it makes a small problem into a large problem and a late night.

Very true comment regarding job 5.. I should have noticed.. rookie error. But I stand by my word about plumb centre in Wandsworth.. they're service is shocking! Mind you, screwfix just opened opposite so I think they'll be kept on their toes

.

I went to change a faulty flush valve last year. Previous "plumber" had sealed the cistern to the pan with sticks like sh t. I couldn't separate them and had to replace the whole thing.

This one was like that.. had to sit on the pan and tank it off twisting it and rocking it, I'm surprised it didn't crack

Oh haha DUH!! Never seen it abbreviated before.. I did use the dpc in the end 😉

I prefer the type 11,21,22,33 way of naming them, just thought though. What's a single panel - no convector called? type 1?

I show the customer what I`m up against then try and pry the cistern away from the wall a liitle bit and use a wood saw down the back if the paint or wallpaper gets damaged so be it.

I had another one where the cistern had been Arco to the wall with silicone so had to use a padsaw to get through it.

This one was only stuck to the pan but couldn't get a blade in far enough to make a difference. It was like they'd made a doughnut from silicone ... Idiots!

Are you in the same boat as me jay? Where the office has quoted rather than an estimate and customers get all shirty with you when explain problems getting to the bit you need to get too.
