Just had to nip it up by half a turn on each screw as there were a few drips on emptying the sink after tonights washing up, but refilled, re-emptied and now dry as a bone.

The kit also comes with a 90-degree elbow but this is optional and I don't need it.

Yes, curses! I forgot to buy the jubilee clips today. I even stared right at a whole rack of them for several minutes whilst waiting for service in one place! Bah! Silly me!

That's sods law.
Also keep hold of the cutter you'll never know when you might want it if you ever move the drain connection or fit a new trap etc.

Bah! Spoke too soon! After the dishwashers 2nd run I've got water in the cupboard. Seems to be coming from the underside of the drain cut-in clamp.
I re-read the instructions to make sure I've done it properly, which I have. It says suitable for 40mm and 32mm pipe, I have 40mm - which means you must remove the 2 spacers before fastening the clamp tight, which I have done. Can you see though how where the clamp goes over the pipe it's nipped quite severely? Is this normal for such kits?
It almost looks like the clamp is too small for the pipe and as a result the pipe is being squeezed, deforming as it does so.
At first I thought it might be water leaking from where the dishwasher drain hose goes onto the spigot (still no jubilee clip) but I had a good feel around and that connection was dry as a bone. Definitely seems to be coming from the clamp somewhere.
Shall I risk another half turn on each screw? Is the pipe likely to shatter or just bend if it's over stressed?

Read the instructions again. Looks like you should have left the spacers in for 40mm.

Did you tighten it up like the Incredible Hulk!? Looks over tightened to me!
NEVER USE them !!! have been called to two flats that had one of them Y , and they both flooded the flats below

I agree it does look over tight but the clamp will only tighten so far. It's not quite fully closed either. I don't have a big enough screwdriver to tighten it anymore. The pipe is definitely nipped.

Thanks, but I've gone with the self-cut extra drain spigot as detailed earlier in the thread.

Just checked the screws. Yesterday I tightened them all up pretty much as far as I was physically able to. Today, the two screws at the front I was easily able to put another full turn. It feels like they have slacked off. This is all going very strange, and I may just plump for the Mcalpine SK1a trap and do the whole lot.
From the pictures, have I got push-fit, compression or solvent weld piping?

Bloody hell jon you've over tightened it slightly.
You don't need to tighten it so both clamps meet, The top clamp has a o ring that seals it when just hand tight.

Any mileage in slackening it off? Will the pipe regain its shape or stay deformed?
