Got called to a job and long story short the gledhill seagull hot water cylinder is split and leaking through he bedroom ceiling.
I issolated the supply and drained down etc.
The old lady discovered her Homeserve so called insurance documents so I said I would call on her behalf.
After loads of trash on the phone (45 minutes) they finaly said she was covered and they would send someone within 4 -6 hours.
This is my greif ! I did explain in great detail I MEAN GREAT DETAIL What the problem was and they said she was covered with the insurance
Anyway young chap turns up Nice lad, He had never even seen a system like this and said no way they are gonna cover this.
System is a simple Y plan boiler down stairs tank in loft etc
I ended up removing the seagull striping it down and brazing the split just to get her going over the holiday period
