good luck with the first child, did you or the compsany pay for the course?
the bpec 3 day course is for experienced fitters, not for newbies

I also completed a fast track course and 2 years on i feel pretty competent i have had a apprentice the over the last 6 months and he started training 1 month after me so i think alot goes down to how much effort you put in ,if theres a problem you cant fix endever to find out what it is just be as safe as possible no shortcuts and keep your head in the books you will be fine , and have to say nothing wrong with us ex forces doing a trade as long as its done well i have come across and rectified many a dangerous situation left by time served apprentices , Good luck in your tests and your career

Something that bugs me about some fast trackers is how they always say they had to go the short course route because there are no apprenticeships.
There are no apprentieships because there are no jobs and there are no jobs because there isn't enough work! It's how this and every other trade has regulated itself for hundreds of years and it works.

Instead of recognising the reality and chosing a different profession people throw money at it (the de rigueur way of achieving anything these days) and further burden everyone.
