Does anyone else hate their job?

I do. Genuinely fallen well out of love with it.

getting that way - everyone wants things done for nothing and having to put tight prices in which dont allow for unforseen problems. not the job in such just that the job is now mainly worrying if your going to get paid or not

dont hate the job but i detest customers. TB your mate rang from the music shop yesterday. waiting on a GC #

i hate custards, most tenants, the government, ideals, cantankerous old people, workshy layabouts, and the fact i get stung every 5 years to prove i am competent to deal with all this malarkey

apart from that i am fairly happy

love it .although only been gsr'd 2 an half years. hate some custs but not all of them

I actually like the work, it's running a business I find hard, but I couldn't work for someone else at a third of the money.

Good stuff, he had to wait for the manager to get back from holiday or summat. Hope you get the job sorted dude.

I enjoy the work, but hate repetition.

I love my job. I don't think I could do it "on the cards" again though. I don't really mind arsey customers. I usually make it a challenge and make them nice. By the end of a job I can normally have moody folk eating out the palm of my hand. I quite enjoy it and see it as a game. As for the job, there are some aspects I don't like, but as I'm a contractor I can pick and choose the jobs I like.

I don't mind the job although it does get a bit samey what drives me round the twist is the traffic, sat in traffic for hours makes my blood boil😡

utterly detest it would walk away from it if i knew what to do i know very few these days whom enjoy plumbing/heating .CCompletely different from when i first started.

Well I've been doin this since I left school in 1978! 34yrs 😀 Flippin heck!

I've had my moments when management have gotten on my back and thought "why do I bother?"......... However all in all I believe there's few jobs better (Gas Engineer)... Get to see all walks of like and venture into homes you could only dream of possessing! I love meeting people though! The job allows me that and has served me well Thank God!

To this day I enjoy the challenges, be it where to run pipes for best looks or how do i fix this boiler I've never seen before?

However for me people make what I do interesting in all honesty! Without them this 'job' would be like working on a factory floor churning out the same old, same old!!! 😀

Still enjoy the work and take pride in it after 30yrs if allowed to complete it to a good standard and paid appropriately. Unfortunately in these times people seem to want to apply neither and everything has to be a quick fix.

I hate alot of things about my job.
1. Difficult landlords/ lettings agents ( But I now just deal in emails with them saves alot of hassle and arguments).
2. Difficult customers or customers tight as a ducks behind (I do argue with these it brightens my day).
3. Endless LLGSC they just seem to keep going on and on.
4. Cheap boilers
5. Following muppets around then having to lie to get them out of it.
6. Fitting other peoples parts (Makes my job harder as I have to double check everything because there muppets)
7. The hours ( Another 12 hour day today and probably tomorrow and friday aswell)
8. Paperwork never ending and I work for a company.
9. Ever changing regs just to keep you on your toes
10. And this is the biggest Lack of trust everybody thinks you are trying to rip them off thanks to the likes of rogue traders.

I do like some things though
1. The money aint that bad
2. Meeting new people and going to new places everyday ( I quit site work due to getting bored of going to the same place day in day out)
3. Breakdowns ( I dont know why I just love them the harder the better)
4. The hours in the summer are great most years not so much this past summer.
5. A bit of freedom when your out and about and just get left to get on with it.

If I could find a job where I got paid the same worked 9-5 and met new people everyday I would quit my job tomorrow.

I love the bigger, more complex installs, designing the best system for the customer, seeing it all neatly come together then the look on the customers face when they're happy with it.
I love the variety as well and just coming up with a solution to a unique problem.
I love seeing my business grow and coming up with ideas to keep ahead of the competition.
I hate the long hours, running my own business with 2 full time employees takes a lot of paperwork, now just turned it into a limited company and having to register for VAT so not looking forward to more of it but it will make me more disciplined and organised.

I hate the heart sinking moment when I get a call back and having to go back in the evening for free, or when a repair becomes a complete waste of time and I can't think of a worse job to be in at the time.

Some weeks I love it, others I hate it. If my six numbers come up in the lotto, I would happilly retire early!

I've met a lot of people who seem to make a fortune from home with a laptop and a phone. Don't quite know how they do it, but it sure looks easier than lugging their radiators about.

One of my dads mates makes a lot of money selling wholesale gas. God knows how.

Should have listened to my dad and studied to be an engineer

Sometimes its great, getting payed, gratefully customers, nice people. Then the shyte days, bad payers, moaning about prices and lack of appreciation for our trade and knowledge. But it's the only thing I can do and have the independance and the money. Oh and when your self employed you never really seem to get away from work, there's always someone wanting you.
