Sime ecomfort 25e combi

this boiler is really frustrating me as the faults keep changing

original fault was if you turned heating or hot water on pump would start, youd get a 1 second blast from the fan and that was it, green light was on the boiler, pump would continue running till demand was turned off

rang Sime and was told board has gone, i wasnt convinced but as i had no better ideas when along with it.
£157 of the customers money later same problem

fiddled around with it for ages, dont know what i did, but then when you put demand on boiler would go through sequence above but then the orange light would come on. Orange light according to the instructions means no flow detected, took the pump proving switch out and manually switched it, boiler fired up for a second went out fired up went out then locked out this time to a red light which means the boiler has overheated. the pipe where the over heat thermistor is situated isnt even hot yet !!

anyone got any suggestions
really really getting :censored: off with this boiler

The overheat stat might be completely knackered. We service loads of sime's and the most common cause for the fault you mentioned is the overheat stat. On a few of their models when we go to service we have to fit a secondary stat because there is a fault with the stats that get fitted before leaving factory.

We've had some grief with an ecomfort to but it was a really from the external controls that wasn't working, I've seen more useful soiled nappies....

It could be worse it could be a ferroli. Ok not much worse. Best thing u can do ambrosia is go to your local hardware store and purchase a BALL PEIN HAMMER and go knutz....

It's not really ever changing faults I've came across with sime's it's the one fault causing ever changing effects. I.e stat is knackered and it causes boiler to cut off after 2 mins or 30 secs or 1 min etc or not fire at all. Sime's are just horrible altogether and so annoying. Even the name they use for 'CO' mode is annoying. 'Chimney sweep mode' haha
