Ecotec plus 824 WON'T lock out

Hey everyone as part of a routine sevice yesterday I turned the gas off to the above boiler to check the flame rectication and it just kept trying to re ignite endlessly! Normally they go to F28 or F29 after 3 failed ignitions but this once didn't lock out it just kept on over and over trying to light must have been at least 20 attempts before I gave it up. Is there a setting for this that can be altered in the 2nd level diagnostics or do we have a fault here? Tried vaillant tec twice and gave up after 20 min on hold! Any ideas welcome

If its not locking out then surely its ID. I very much doubt this can be altered in the settings so I'd be looking at a faulty fsd.

It does recognise that ther flame hasn't been established as it stops the ignition sequence as it should and then tries to light again but instead of 3 attempts it does it endlessly. I manged to speak to vaillant today who advised there is an error with the board but its an odd one never encountered it before
