Hi everyone

I am going to change a bottom entry torbeck in a wc as its not filling the cistern after flushing, keep having to push the arm down to fill. Do they have the similar inners to the standard ball float valves as i will take it apart before i replace it or is it better to just replace.😕

I always replace them, it is quite an easy job, if you put in a new one, you no everything is going to be ok (hopefully)🙂

Yes Squirrels right. Got to admit I don't much like Torbecks they seem a bit flimsy. The idea is great the build quality not so good.

fit fluidmaster everytime,a bit more expensive but now even come with brass inlets to save the cross treading

I recently came across a Torbeck that wouldn't fill the wc cistern. I took it apart and found a minute speck of crud was blocking the tiny little hole that is closed by the float as it rises. (So the valve acted as though the float was up, and shut off the water, even though it wasn't)

I cleaned this out (poked it with a needle and flushed it under the tap) and reassembled -- no more trouble (till another bit of crud comes along I guess).

The crud particle should not have got through the integral filter in the valve, but evidently it did. So it's something to be aware of with this type of equilibrium float valve.
