got a splinter stuck in my hand last Thursday,unpacking a cooker with wooden packaging on the corners ,so tried jubbing the skin with a needle and twezzers but its stuck in to far,cant see it,not wanting to take time off to go to the docs been down to the local tesco and asda trying to buy Magnesium Sulphate Paste or epsom salts,they dont sell it so called to a local cornershop that sells everything,fk me it turned into a ronnie corbett sketch,the poor Pakistani gent behind the counter was helpful but could not understand what i was asking for i asked for Magnesium Sulphate Paste he said toothpaste? eh no mate so tried epsom salts,i had to bite my lip as he replied HP sauce? FFS PMSL,i was in tears:lol::lol::lol:

Saw a kitchen fitter today slip with a cordless screwdriver, cut straight across his hand! He shouted for fxxxks sake, stood up straight and banged his head on the corner of the extractor hood.

I agree with the advice of getting your hand soaked for a while in water, then get a plaster on it. Or get a strong magnifying glass and dig deep with tweezers.
The worst splinters I found were fibreglass from the underside of plastic baths, - like needles and slip well below the skin!

Its when your feeling a sharp pain in your fingers every now and then and know theres something in there but can't see anything because its so small, drywall screws are bad for it

I forgot about screwing. I try to avoid now using my fingers while screwing. :rolleyes2:
Another thing was steel wool. I had bits deep in my hands for literally months.
Thankfully I use lighter grade steel wool nowadays

The worst splinters I found were fibreglass from the underside of plastic baths, - like needles and slip well below the skin!

They are horrible! Sharp as feck and they hurt like hell!

That's why I use emery cloth now instead of wire wool, much nicer on the hands

went to the chemist,got some Magnesium Sulphate Paste ,put a small bit on,big plaster over it,by this afternoon it had drawn it strait out,worth remembering :rockon2:

used mag sulphate to get hawthorn splinters out from thumb joint twice in the past, couple of days and out they pop, huge beggars.

an ultra violet light (sunbed) you will see any splinters clearly
