Are flexible pan connectors any good? Never fitted one like this - have always gone for rigid HDPE where possible. However after fitting more and more flexble WHB and Sink wastes over the years I have a little more confidence in their longevity.

It would not require to be extended very much - probably only around 100mm or half it's potential length and I will make sure it is well supported.

Are they ok with soil - given that there will be heavier waste and more 'stronger' chemicals from cleaning?

I prefer fixed wherever possible but like mist things, they have their place. I have no hesitation using when one if the need arises. Usually McAlpine.

Thanks Howsie Sir. I am of similar mindset re fitting them - but this time its a Geberit BTW frame - paying all that money to slim down the duct and save space then having to push it out from the wall with large fixed offsets just doesnt seem right. The flex conn' will save around 2" and keep it back to the wall.

So I will be using the Geberit Pan conn - through to the geberit Straight Duofix HDPE pipe with the flex bent coupling coming off that and running into a 4" soil outlet on the wall below the straight duofix pipe. I will be using water as opposed to silicone to slip the couplings on - just in case. 😉

Another evil invention of the Devil's Mother in Law, in fact worse than tap flex's.
Misalignment connectors were bad enough.

Try to put them on dry without any lubricant or just wet slightly with a bit of saliva ( preferably your own). That way there is less chance of them slipping back off if there is any tension on the joint. I have also found that if they are fitted then wedged in place with a little bit of wood and then left alone for a day or so, for some reason they tend to stiffen up a bit and stay in the same shape when the wood is removed.

The geberit pan con wont help as the waste is about 4" below the pan outlet - the waste I need to connect to is a branch through the wall (cast iron) with the external branch at the back of the stack going straight through the roughcast. Bleedin 60's building. rollseyes.

The spigot for the CI branch is embedded in the wall and it has a upvc 100mm pipe cemented in. It is pretty sound - but it means with the waste being out of alignment for the frame - the geberit pan con is not going to be of use.

I am actually considering the MK0100 offset connector with the connector above in post 5.

So this coming out the wall:

...... and this running from the pan to the offset (not too happy with the flexi part of the waste lying almost level (maybe I will wrap it in denso tape at the ends LOL)

with wc's that all the back closes fully against the wall (if you know the type i mean) then i find it alot better to fit flexi pan connectors . i have never had one leak either

put a straight pan connector into the 'z' connector?

That's a point. Pehaps the geberit straight pan conn will fit if I can find some way of securing the inlet of the offset z conn to the frame..... the inlet of the offset will be too large for the geberit securing clip - IIRC that is only 90mm ish.

This could be the winner - if I can secure the z con to the frame.

Bazingo!

i believe 'according to my merchant' the macfits are designed to fit inside the 'z' connector inlet?

The thing that worries me about the flex conn - is that it is secured at the pan spigot by a jubilee clip. As you press the BTW pan towards the wall there will be a natural twisting motion as it compresses again.

I wonder if that would be sufficient to break the seal that was made with the offset connector?

I am liking the idea of fixing the z connector to the frame - might have to alter the height though.
