Flue gas analysers

Hi, I've been a plumber for 8 yrs as part of a maintenance team. I've not long completed acs gas certificates and I'm looking at starting up on my own and i'm after some advise on the best flue gas analysers that are available. At the college i attended they used a Kane, which I thought was simple to use and very practical with the magnetic case. As you can appreciate 300-500 quid is a lot to fork out so any suggestions will be appreciated.

Back to the subject of what flue gas analysers are the best!
I have always used Testo. They are more expensive but like every tool, you pay for what you get.
Never had any trouble apart from replacing batteries! And lucky to have never lost one!!

Welcome to the forum........... i prefer Anton easy to use and not had much trouble with them

kane 455 cheap to service and good mid price range fga

Any opinions on the Kane 250? I'm looking to buy my 1st FGA soon and price wise this seems reasonable for £400 with printer inc.

cheaper in the long run to go 455 as servicing is 85 x 5 years against 250 at 85 x 3 and 200plus for 2 years to cover cost of replacement sensors.

jmw (i thnk)does good deal on kanes and they will haggle if you find a cheaper version elsewhere

I've been rocking the kane 250 for the last couple of years with 300 plus uses out of it. cheap set with printer and only issue i had was fluctuating readins very erratic at one job. had the probe in test point for about 10 minutes and took a while to realise it was just water in the tube....muppet!! Had gas safe rep recommend a flue analyser that can be used as a manometer.....seroisly who wants to leave a £500 piece of equipment hanging off of an external meter whilst you pop in the house to fire up an appliance. with my luck it'd get robbed in no time.
250 was cheapest i could find when i bought it. would maybe go to 450 now as this year looking at £150ish service costs whereas 450 is low every year.

i would go along with that.get the extra kit as well.
