the picture is from street level looking down on the flue termination, the flue is about 300mm below ground level and the grid allows you to walk directly over it

its in a basement, a brand new ferroli put in 6 months ago, and installer has gone missing

the gas valve has gone on it already, and while i was fault finding opened up the heat exchanger and found sooting

not sure if the gas valve going has anything to do with the installation or just because its a rubbish ferroli (sorry to anyone who likes ferroli)

checked outside and directly above flue was a rubbish bin

Also doesnt look 300mm away from internal corner

Think it can be. 25mm from internal corner. But if fitting plume management you need to be 150 from internal. Where exactly you gonna discharge kit to ? Looking at size of well and the door me thinks it needs to be way above the well. Plume kit limit is........ 2m??

Just picked six Ferroli,s at random from installation manuals and found
1 required 300mm

4 required 100mm

1 required 200mm internal/external clearance.

So maybe ok on that count depending on model.

But is that location classed as an enclosed light well?

just stick a plume diverter on it
aint my install and I dont want to touch it,
i didnt take any photos but the pipework coming out of the boiler is push fit and the ground is compacted earth. the pipe work is just sitting on the ground flapping around, when your standing in front of the boiler you have to be careful not to kick or stand on the joints

its basically been installed by a man who doesnt take any pride in his work

i thought it only had to be 300mm above ground level, dam have I told the customer the wrong thing
