Anyone have a link for a free ant virus software?
Have just received an email from Norton saying my credit card has been charged £64.99 automatic renewal?? I lost my cool and phoned my cc company but they refused to refund the money, saying I agreed to it?
So I tried to contact Norton only to be told I must do a Live Chat (from India me thinks) or phone. No emails???
Now I have managed to cancel it, they have just sent me a bright bold message saying key revoked etc, ffft
I would have bought the product anyway, but am angry they kept my card details and choose to purchase the product on my behalf?

Norton is a bloated anti virus. try AVAST if you just want a free one or AVG. If you need more cover than just anti virus for business etc then pay one of them not norton cos its jive.

That 64.99 happened to me last year. Needless to say I was peed of as well. Norton used to have a bad rep but some of there newer reviews are top of the ladder... Anti virus,s are like boilers we all like different ones except with anti we don't actually know the full background pros n cons .

I clicked a link to get a Free Download Norton or so. A few days later I was told I needed to upgrade. This went on to the point where I submitted. { worry clicking on a free AVG or similar will land me in the same hot water. There are so many companies out there claiming to offer the antivirus protection then try and sell you the product or something else?

also if you want a free separate anti virus then go above. free firewall is COMODO. Both free things will protect you and dont be fooled by paying products stating they can protect you more because they cant. many will disagree but take my word for it..🙂

p.s if you do go for the free ones click the proper link cos they'll always try and get to the money.

Sounds like the link was a free 30 day trial then they came back with the wallet rape.

Just one more thing pal..Don't us internet explorer as your web browser cos its THE most hacked. use Firefox or gooogle chrome...personally i use firefox.

malwarebytes does it for me. Also great site for information and problem solving.

Got to disagree.
Been using Norton last 3 years after avoiding it due to being crap previous to then. It has upped its game big time.
Very unobtrusive and never had a serious attack since using it.
I download 'A LOT' and use a lot of not so safe sites.
Never had same protection from freeware. Trust me I am tight when comes to spending money needlessly. If I could get have half the protection and piece of mind for free I would take it.
Used AVG, AVAST, NOD32, KASPERSKY. NORTON every time!
Just make sure you do not get caught with auto-renewal. I never pay the full whack.
Use Malwarebytes on the side to catch odd wee pesky adwear as well. No one security program is 100% full proof.

windows defender is free and most likely already on your computer I use it and do the occasional scan with malware bytes free version

I have stuck with AVG free and Siteadvisor. AVG does try to get you to upgrade from time to time but the nags not too bad. Siteadvisor has saved me from a few embarrassments over the years.
