How's it going. I am GSR (number 3042933), I've sent an email to redsaw and haven't had my details updated yet. One of my customers has a glowworm 30cxi (gc 4704724) and with no demand and power on the fan just continuously runs at full speed. I've checked continuity through the over heat which is ok, checked resistance of flow/return temperature sensors, 8.5kohms which is ok for the temperature. The boiler doesn't have an aps. No fault codes come up, the boiler just displays the system pressure of 1.3bar. I switched the boiler to maximum rate on the potentiometer on the interface board which displays the fan speed, which was showing 55, near enough max rate for 30kw. Also the boiler doesn't really do a lot when you put a demand on either - fan just continues to run, and nothing else.

I'm thinking PCB fault, any ideas?

patience is a virtue 🙂 please wait 🙂

Have a look at fault code history, make anote of them. You might want to try and do a factory reset of the software d code d96

Cheers for the reply! I don't think you can look through fault code history on this model, can you? How do you reset the software? There's no reset button or anything. Just three control knobs (c/h, h/w and power), or do you do it from the PCB?

Ye, I've had a browse through the book but it doesn't mention anything about resetting software (that I can see). And the fault finding isn't exactly the best unless you have an actual fault code display.

It has a preheat function which would cause the fan to run, but if the boiler didn't light, it would go to lock out, so can't be anything like that.

I was trying to get hold of glow worm earlier, but I was on hold for 20 mins and then gave up.

And the odd thing is that it was working when I arrived, I turned the power off on the fuse spur to do a tightness test, came back, turned the power back on and BAM, boiler didn't work!
