Hi,

Has anyone got any experience with this boiler?

Called out to one this afternoon, it is basically 'hunting'. Fan runs, then stops, runs and stops etc.

Never gets to ignition stage. I went through there fault finding guide and everything pointed to PCB, but I thought I'd ring there tech just to confirm etc.

Tech guys tells me the flashing sequence of the two leds on the control panel indicated air pressure switch.

I did told him that I'd checked it, and although appearing a little crappy it seemed to be actuating. Long story short, followed his advice, raced to parts place to pick one up and fit so customer could have heating/hot water over long weekend. Just been and fitted it and it's doing the same thing.

Checked venturi is clean, APS tubes all ok. 240v at gas valve etc.

I did a quick internet search and read some horror stories about engineers changing pcb, aps and still problems. Don't like chucking parts at boilers, so if anyone has any previous ecperience with this boiler please let me know.

Cheers

Did you change the overheat stat at the same time gasman10 as I've read it should be changed at the same time? Cheers for all the replies 🙂

have a look at the basics as well, ie is the flue blocked etc then have another look at your aps pipes, they can sometimes have tiny splits that cause these syptoms and a £2 pipe problem is a real ****er when youve gone and opened the packet of a £200 pcb

Check the fan motor/ blade is turning freely if you spin it. Resistance will give false signal to air pressure switch I.e. activating the switch but unable to hold it open!

glow worm advise changing thermistor as well as pcb. done a few and after changing the pcb gave thermistor fault
