Hi

I have a glowworm 24cxi combi boiler which until yesterday has been perfect.

I noticed that the pressure read as 0.9bar so i added some water using the built in tap rather than connecting the hose.

I know from previous times that the pressure relief valve drips when filling which i understand is normal. I topped it up to around 1.2 bar and turned the tap back off.

Around an hour later i went back into the garage where the boiler is and the valve must have leaked as the pressure read as 0.2 bar and the red light was flashing. Topped it back up (no leaks) and hot water and heating worked fine.

The only issue was that the pressure on the display is erratic after delivering hot water, showing 1.0 bar, 1.2, 1.3 and back to 1.0. The fan also seems to surge too whereas before it would run for a while and then switch off.

This morning there is no hot water despite calling for it, and the fan runs permanently.

Any ideas before i call a plumber out.

Thanks
James

The prv (pressure relief valve) shouldn't drip, needs replacing if it drips below 2 bar

And best to get a gas safe engy to check it over and maybe service it
Think he means the barrel attached to the filling loop mate. On the left hand side. The ones that always drop. But as shaun says. Get a gas safe to check it out for you.
