A little bit of advice please if possible.
I have just done a bit of work in an old grade 2 listedbuilding that had been converted into flats. The job went well, howeveralthough some of the dwellings are unoccupied some of the residents on theground floor who occupy 1 stub stackbetween 2 flats & opposite each other have mentioned that when the neighbourflushes the toilet the shower waist in their room starts to bubble or gurgle.
My thinking is syphonage could be occurring, the problem Ihave is the access to any stub stacks & pipe work etc is very limited(extra work to get to visual inspection) and the landlord/owner shows keenness tokeep cost down (no surprise there).
The flats were built pre 1999 building regs from what I amtold, however if it’s a listed building converted would there be any drawingsavailable for planning permission toshow the waist termination points and would they be available and from were. I haveasked the owner a few times but he says he can’t get hold of any.
Sorry it’s a long winded question but I just seem to havenagging thoughts that the conversions were not done to a good standard thefirst time round, and before I put any cost in I want to see how bad a can ofworms I could be opening.
Thanks in advance for your comments
