Hello everyone.

I am a level 2 adult student looking for tips and advice and employment to gain experience in the west yorkshire area. My course will be completed for June/July 2019 hopefully so I would be looking for a route on to gas safe once my level 2 is complete.

I dont have much experince to speak of outside of what Iv done at home and at college and tbh thats mostly radiator work.

Hope to pick up some tips and tricks whilst Im here and possibly a new employer too.

Thanks for reading my introduction and I look forward to chatting to you all soon.

Welcome , plenty good guys on here to help answer any questions
However , the bit regarding experience etc , sorry but thats going to be incredibly hard .
Whereabouts in Gods Own are you ?

Lol thanks.
Im from Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

I know getting the experience is the hard part but I was hoping that with the cold season on the way and good plumbers being in demand, the extra workload would open the way for me to get involved.

Wishful thinking maybe.

Tbh, you will slow the guy down unless it is just helping with lifting.
Sorry but true.

I still cannot believe how lucky I was to get a place. Way back when. There are many conversations on here with debates about taking trainees on or not. In reality the above is true. It slows us all down.

Personally I would email every company for about a 25 Miles radius. Be honest and yourself.

L2S Welcome.

Really sorry, but Harvest is spot on. You are joining every other person in your position literally fighting to work. Being honest the prospects are not at all good.

That said, if you do what everyone else does then you'll get the response everyone else gets! So, you have to look at this differently. The ONLY reason anyone employs ANYONE, is because they will EARN more than they cost. So, your challenge is to find a way of adding as much genuine value (in the EMPLOYERS EYES) as you possible can.

Perhaps you can start by talking to some and finding out what they find a complete pain in the bum, or tedious or whatever. Then perhaps you might DEMONSTRATE that you can do that reliably, well & consistently to make the employers life easier. At that point, you begin to add value.

I know it isn't very specific but you are going to have to be tenacious, persistent, caring & empathetic in your hunt.

Very best of luck.
