I always call it drink driving as those do what they do knowing full well its wrong and will continue until they caught and if they are not caught they will continue

Agree with you there mate but I think no one here likes having that disregard thrust in their face

Who would be liable in this situation if something went wrong?

Say there was a fire due to gas leak from the fitting line.
(I assume all gaswork alterations on a property require a fitting line test.)

Say this guy fitted a combi - under instruction from his boss.
Had a third party sign it off.

There was a gas leak with a fitting he had installed and it caused a fire, leaving the dwelling uninhabitable.

Who would be up for the costs to get the family back into their home?
Who would be prosecuted for the recovery of costs involved in doing so?
