😕I have a cold radiator and even after bleeding it its still not working. I have read threads on removing the white dial and seeing if the pin needs tapped but i have a myson 11 2 way valve and the one that is not working is the only one that doesn't have the pins sticking out the black cuff on the bottom so i can't tap the pin - how else do i do this and why is this radiator different?

I have been turning off other radiators in the other rooms (only 3 others ) to save on money as i have 2 babies under 6 months that need heat all day - has this maybe knackered the system? all other radiators working a treat.

The pipes leading to the radiator from the floor are cold also so is it maybe a bigger problem than just the valve being bust?

Hope someone can help me

Cheers Tracii

is it like this [DLMURL]http://www.myson.co.uk/downloads/TRV.pdf[/DLMURL]

Thanks for the quick response

Yes its the same as the 3rd diagram on the right hand side - black cuff but no pin on underside of black cuff.

cheers

Have you loosened and removed from the chrome nut under the black (cuff) there you should find a pin
Carefully move pin up and down not too much untill radiator hopefully gets warm then replace TRV head

what is the trv head??? sorry the only thing that moves freely on this valve is the chrome ring under the black cuff which has the arrow for the temperature gauge. it moves in a clockwise position - is this the ring that i have to loosen and will the pin be under this chrome cuff? should the heating be on while i do this so i can feel it heating up?

😕

Sorry but the white bit with the temp ie 0 * I II III IIII 0 doesn't unscrew or the black cuff.

Right .........trv is the bit black cuff and above with the numbers on 0 * I II III IIII 0 yes loosen the chrome ring under the black bit untill the trv head come off, reverse this to fit back.

and leave the heating on

Eco

if you look at the plastic head below this is a metal ring you turn this anti clockwise and then pull the head off, then you will reveal the pin

the part eco is refering to is circled in red if this is your valve

it does depend on which way tracii is looking at it from? top or bottom= anti clock or clockwise??

he has a special red pen LOL,i am a bit less sophisticated i have a red crayon, but if you have said trv in your photos on your pc you can edit it copy and paste thats one way i am sure hihowudoin will enlighten us to a quicker way than mine LOL

Thanks so much for all your help that worked a treat. 😀 I think i'll need to get a new one though as it keeps cooling down after a while til its too cold and then i have to turn the dial down to lowest setting and back up to highest setting to get it to kick in again.

I'll look in to getting a new part and what that entails.

The babies now have heating so thanks again, i love this forum

Cheers

Glad to hear you had a semi successful outcome and that you have warmth and a happier start to New Year ;-)
