I am Jeff Hammersley, someone who has gotten through 68 years without learning anything about plumbing or heating work.
Instead I spent my time as a 'professional button pusher' developing some of the largest databases in Europe.
Finally retired and trying to get the house which we left empty for 30 years back into a habitable condition.
Naturally, we get a lot of help from trades but I also try to get my hands dirty from time to time.

Hi and welcome. Sounds like you've got a project or two coming up then! Looking forward to seeing them progress.

Yes, the next projects are to:
  • renovate the wife's en-suite shower room (we want to keep the delightful peach coloured suite but replace all the fittings).
  • upgrade the bedroom radiators to type 22s.
  • get myself an outside sink (probably Belfast) with hot and cold (reusing the deck mixer from the old kitchen sink) so that I have somewhere to clean my paint brushes.
  • try to tidy up all of the outside waste an spoil pipes that have grown up over the years (looking for brown pipework to blend in with the brickwork).

  • Winner
