been working on sites and there seems to be alot of people using hilti and the people not using there products wish they could afford it ! now im planning on getting the hilti te 7 cordless sds and the 22v impact driver ! but are they the best ? anybody got these ?

I'm with mountainman, never had any and I can't say I've struggled by not either. It may be a revalation if I ever did but not sure it can be worth the premium.

My gaffer uses all hilti gear, all walls we drill are thick stone, i use makita and his hiltis just fly through the stone while mine are more brick type.

Yes they are expensive, they do very good drill bits too!! I recommend them. If/when my makita's pack up. Hilti's will be the next drills i buy!

Got the 7a and it's the daddy, used it to core many a 5inch hole without a problem, comes with a hoover attatchment so you can drill holes in people's houses without any dust, and the charger is chipped to a fob on your keys, so only you can charge the battery (anti theft) I love it, but the box is mahoosive and I take it into the house every night because I don't know what I would do if it went walkies.

the corded tools do seem to be at a good price ! even there tools bare aint too bad ! its the whole package that costs alot !

If you want to do a goodjob, you need good tools. If you want good tools you have to pay good money. Nobody on site has got a dril as good as my badboy. I get it serviced by hilti free of charge. Cheap drills break. and if you want to drill big holes, you usually need a corded and a transformer (PITA).

I also have milwaukee 18v impact driver and 18v combi drill with the 13mm metal chuck. drills 12mm holes in concrete no probs and spins well fast on number 2. I will never go back to cheapo dewalt tat.

hilti do make good kit. You have to weigh up there expense over alittle longer time period as they do tend to last a while longer. that said any make of li-on battery will die on you and you also need to consider the cost of extra batteries. you can get some brands 18v 3ah batts for £50 so sometimes its better to base your choice on more than the tool alone.

All my gear is Milwaukee an tbh, if I was to replace it, it would be for hilti. Or more Milwaukee lol
