Horizontal pipe runs on vented systems

Good morning Gents!

I keep getting asked by a loft company to move header tanks in the loft.

Long horrible horizontal pipe runs.

This of course creates tremendous ball ache with air locks etc.

The heating is always converted to unvented but the hot water.....

Can someone point me towards regs, guidance, standards, literature etc saying you should not do this?

I want something to wave in their face.

Need more info:
Where is DHW cylinder in relation to tanks?
How far are you running to the new tank position?
I presume this is just a cold feed and a vent pipe?

The tanks are being moved form being vertical above the cylinders to the eaves of the loft.

This can be a couple of meters or much further in extreme cases.

Yes I know it's not a good idea. Yes, why not put in an unvented cylinder etc etc.

I just want to know if there are any regs/guidance/standards etc to show how much of a bad idea this is to the loft company.

The only things I can think of that say it might be a bad idea is the head not being good enough, the losses through pipe runs being too much and not being able to get a rise throughout the run to the tank. There are other things like the weight to consider of course and access for maintenance. Frost could be an issue.
