Hot water keeps running out

A few times my hot water has ran out but nobody has used the hot water all day and it’s always on at the emertion so we always have hot water!

Any idea y this would happen?

How big is the tank?
how is the water heated?
its an immersion BTW

Not sure what size the tank is but I would say it’s a small one!

Heated by boiler and emmertion heater

Is the hot water cylinder that the immersion heater is fitted in an older type with loose lagging or a newer type with sprayed foam lagging.?
Is the pipework immediately above the cylinder lagged?

Using your immersion is much more expensive to heat your water than using your gas boiler.

Can’t you change your boiler timer for water?
