How or where can I buy a washer for an antique faucet stem?

I have an antique sink and was able to remove the stem. It had a work out washer on the end of it. Is it possible to find these washers today? The ones I had were too small and this one also was not flat.

Excuse my ignorance. What is a work out washer?

Try the suggestions above. If not, come back to us with a photo and I'm sure we can assist you. Taps of considerable age are almost always repairable and you could probably cut a washer to fit even if you can't find one readlily available.
