How to tighten 15mm Flexible Tap Hose Adaptor

This is going to sound stupid - but it is giving me problems. I have fitted new flexible tap hoses that each connects with a tap hose adaptor to give the recommended flat surface to connect to an isolator. All good except I cannot tighten the flexible hose hex nut without twisting the hose. I’ve tried holding it and twisting it a bit in the opposite direction but the hose still twists and I cannot get it tight enough to a hive a seal.

I tried to tighten the hose onto the adaptor first but then the problem is holding the smooth extending pipe without damaging its surface.

Any thoughts appreciated.

If you’re struggling, tighten the adaptor into the isolator and then tighten the hose onto the adaptor - don’t worry if it twists a little but keep this to a minimum.
Then crack the compression nut on the isolator which holds the adaptor; now twist the adaptor around to remove the strain from the flexible hose , retighten the compression nut.

OK, I finally got it tightened! The solution for me was a combination of methods. First, I tightened the flexible tail onto the adaptor by gripping the adaptor, held in a wide rubber band, in a workshop vice. I inserted the shank of the correct-size drill bit into the adaptor to stop is being deformed in the vice. I then tightened the tail into the tap and inserted the adaptor into the isolator with only a little twisting of the tail. This I relieved by cracking the adaptor/isolator joint. Bingo, no leaks!

Should it be that complicated? I suspect not.
