Just done a service and was there 3 hours :| absolute NIGHTMARE!!!

He got a new PCB board fitted a year ago and the GSR engineer lashed the connectors OVER the cover panel of the PCB casing. Boiler was turned off by switch while i was doing my tests, when i went to turn it on it sparked!
Fuse at mains on heating switched and what it did was blow the tiny fuse on the PCB. So had no power

Trailed to merchants and replaced the fuse. We got power.

Did all my tests which read fine and gas rated on heating and dhw, all read fine.

Went to flue gas analyse it. No test nipple or point on flue or inside boiler :| so i had to go outside and stick the rod down the flue like MI stated.

It read. 0.0008 which for a combi is allowed 0.008 so was fine. Then took probe out of flue and then my analyser started sayin high levels!
WTF?!! Lol any body know of anything?
Flue gas analyser is 1 month old

Definatly mate! Pain is a under statement! The wires inside the boiler is so untidy! To get to the gas valve you got to unscrew the pcb housing ffs! That was when i was doing my wp on the boiler. The bottom wire to the pcb must of touched the metal casing or another wire and tripped! So lucky it didnt blow the pcb!!

Going to phone the flue gas analyser rep now to see if they can explain about it

Spoke to the rep and he said because you have to let your ratio read 0.0000 before you switch it off....

Makes sense like, silly me..
Still dont like the ideal isars though! Lol

No mate, just was trying to switch off the analyser while it still read the co2 ratios

Just word of warning for you guys if you get this boiler. Try not to let the wires touch the outter casing. This incident now has made me SO CAUTIOUS with boiler pre wiring!!

Anybody have any problems dealing with these... Sure theres alot! Please share! I used to fit these on the eaga warm front grant. Only good point about these boilers were that they are sooo easy to fit!

Its a well known pig of a boiler. They have loads of pcb probs, my wifes cousin has one and im forever round there.

Ive told him next time its a new boiler.

Lol true mate, went to merchants to get a new fuse and they said they love em because they bring so much business! Recons pcb fuses go ALL the time

These can be pigs to work on.

The flue gas test point on Isars is on top of the boiler, need a bit of rubber tube
for these though. The probe won't fit in. Also need the front cover on as you get
no sensible readings otherwise.

I saw the flue probe, which you mention, however i dont have a probe to attach to that, like a manometer hose.

Also you need to remove the front cover, then combustion cover to get access to the flue test point you state?

How could you put the front cover on and test aswell?

Yes, right on top of the boiler. In front of and just to the right of the flue.

Small chrome cap nut or sometimes a little white plastic push over cover.

I did mean only the combustion cover.

you do sometimes get a high reading from your analyser if the boiler is starting up or turning down/off. If its a kane they will display high if you try to turn the analyser off while it has a certain co reading to protect its cell, it goes into a purge mode before turning off.
