hello
After an engineer serviced our intergas boiler, the pressure was going down continuously. He told us that the prv was faulty and quoted us £200 to have it replaced, so we asked around and the last engineer told us that the pressure vessel, PRv are both faulty and the filling loop is leaking. He has not given me a quote yet but said that it is such a time consuming job that I might as well replace the boiler! Our boiler is 6 years old. It has been working with no problems. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I haven't received the new quote for the pressure Vessel and PRV- that is when the new engineer said , I might as well change my boiler.

It depends where the vessel is, some models they sit in a jig behind the boiler.... stupid idea but newer models they have moved it to the front...

If it's at the back then changing it is an arse and will often need a new flue kit....so by the time you've finished it's a new boiler kind of price.

When I've fitted one I've installed a separate vessel below the boiler on the return...that way it's an easy change.

if when you have run the c/heating then its cooled down you have to re fill it sounds like your ex vess could just have lost its presure hence it may just need to be represured. your prv may not be leaking as your boiler has gone over presure and passing the prv has let the presure out.
hope that makes sense.
