got one of these to look at tommorrow with ignition failure i know they often need electrodes and they hold the insulation is there a kit ?is there a sensor on the condense trap?

No sensor on the trap but prone to blocking,there is a new one piece insulation kit,pull the plug off the electrode and holding it with a insulated grips see if it sparks against the hex,spark gen prone to failing
what tell tale signs do you look for insulation failing. have had a few were they are just totally falling apart! 2nd what gas man said spark generator fails quite often

seen them earth where they enter casing!
blocked sump and trap had a few times, stop boiler dead.

If youve got a high quality inspection camera pull the ignition probe out and have a peek inside the burner.
Takes 2 mins instead of pulling the fan and burner off.

Ionisation leads melt. Ignition probes warp out of shape, ignition transformer gets weak, insulation falls down on the heat exchanger, condense blocks.
As for the insulation if it hasn't got the matting type insulation with the tight pins then I like to replace all of the insulation.
A better thing to do is replace the whole boiler.
