lame plumber

sat watching downton with madam, 10 to 10 and the mobile goes, give it an ignoring, so then the landline goes off, pick it up and get " boilers broken, you serviced it...excuse me says I, but its quite late, do you want to call during normal office hours? No I dont says he, so I suggest he tries another technician and pop down the phone.

Just looked up his records and remember when I first turned up to do the service, he was out!! Went back to an old trianco 50/65 baffles burnt through, door seals gone and not been serviced for years, all in all a heap, but got it up and running eventually. Had a chat with him to point out the burner is on its last legs , so not to be surprised if it fails idc. Seems my words of wisdom came sooner than he expected.

I really hate this modern world, people forget we all have other lives and they are not my number one priority. Used to be considered bad manners to telephone folks after nine at night, even when you were friends. Re bad manners, mine have gone down hill, I keep putting the phone down on the ones I feel have worse manners than me 🙂
 
I got phone at 12.30 am last week , a customer i fitted a new boiler for last year , it was a worcester classic ( fitted alot last year ) and i always explain to customers the full workings of boilers and how to top the old pressure gauge, now with the worcester it can be a pain because of the white key that needs to be inserted , anyway this customer called my at probably nearer 1 in the morning saying her heating wasnt working and that the pressure read 0, i very slowly talked her through what to do over the phone but the fact it tells you in instructions but some folks need that wee bit help, and i need ma beauty sleep lol

of course its me, happy to admit it, but the guy is an bum, bit of karma going back in his direction this time. Recently as my wrist has given me some gype I decided to bin a few of the pains in the butt, it will cost me a bit in money but I cant be assed to cow tow to idiots any longer, if they cant be considerate to me I wont to them.

However, all my nice well mannered old dears I work for can call me anytime, I reckon when you hit 98 and the boiler breaks you deserve a break, however they never seem to call until 0830 on Monday morning, as happened last monday.

Out of hours for emergencies if your happy to pay, this twassock wanted a free callout tonight
 
I can't stand customers like this, who dont think you deserve any time to your self, and even though advertising 24/7 Emergency call out that's mainly for water gushing out of somewhere or a gas leak
 
just had a listen to the answer phone on my mobile, starts off moaning that it was only serviced 2 months ago and has stopped already, forgetting it is the first time its been serviced in years, apart from replacing the pump solenoid last year ( but he didnt ask for a service then, just a repair), so I was surprised the thing kept going for 12 months, service it and it fails 2 months down the line ....................
 
If I service anything its like a car mot - its ok and the day...if next week it goes kaput its their luck out sadly.
 
I had a local one (about 300 yards away) ring me at about midnight on the house phone one time when he had come in from the pub and his heating wouldn't come on.
I told him if he rings me again at this time i'd come round and break his fkn legs.
Don't know what was wrong with it cos he never rung back for some reason

funnily enough, the dozy custard didnt call this morning to book me in, next stop trading standards visit, solicitors letters etc etc.
 
Its alright Lame some of these people are just plain nobs..

A customer started work on a quote i did recently; cast the oil tank(domestic) base for me.. with a 10% slope, and wanted to know what to start on next.

I promptly drove down to them (I like the personal touch) and told them ''This is no way to do business, and to find some one else''

The look on their face when I told them.. If I could only bottle that I'd be a millionaire surely.
