Hi All

customer today had problems getting the above gas fire to light.
after inspection it appeared that the ignition lead from the pizzo to the electrode was the problem in that the spark was eminating through the small ceramic block that the electrode tip was fixed into and thus sparking below the pilot head. I couldnt see a crack in the ceramic so tried moving it slightly further up to see if it helped as there didnt seem to be a fixed position for it.
my question is do they normally spark against the thermocouple (which is angled slightly over the pilot head) or the edge of the pilot head itself

on either position is still struggles to light but i suspect the spark is not all it can be
the pilot lights no problem with manual ignitor by hand

new lead is on order (2 weeks delivery)

cheers in advance

put some drops of superglue on the ceramic tip it usually seals the crack and stops the spark arcing in the wrong place

the spark needs to be beside the pilot head (to ignite the gas) not the thermocouple which needs to be positioned so that the pilot when lit envelopes it
