Plumber has laid new blue pipe (20 mm?), using moling machine, from boundary going under drive to wall at front of house. Then put in a connection to a another piece of blue pipe which goes through wall via sleeve with insulation, into the house. The sleeve is about 3 feet long? It isn't sealed at either end, is that okay?

The blue pipe then goes across house foundations to dining-room room next to kitchen. The old lead pipe joins a piece of copper pipe coming out of side of solid kitchen floor into dining-room foundation. But the new blue pipe doesn't reach that far. It only goes two-thirds of way across dining-room. Plumber has left a white piece of pipe (15 mm) connected to end of blue pipe. I think he will connect white to the existing copper when water company come.

I was expecting the blue to go all way to existing copper. Will having about 6 feet of white affect water pressure in house?

Sorry this is long.

Where the blue MDPE pipe comes through the floor, on entering the building is where the MDPE should stop. MDPE is not for use above ground and therefore the minimum should be seen. The sleeve through the foundation should be sealed at either end.

the bit im not sure about is the two 4 m lengths with only one joint suggest they intend feeding it in how do they intend to clip it sounds to me like will have to have some large holes cut in the ceiling and a 10 inch deep boxing

Why don't you just ask the plumber doing the job what he intends to do rather than come on the internet and ask strangers that can't see the job?
I will never understand why people employ a plumber then question behind his back rather then just ask him/her.

Maybe because the public are SO aware of cowboys nowadays that if something looks suspect they do a little research, its the only way for them sometimes.... this guy might have an inclination that he has joe blogs pretending to be a plumber at his house... Just saying innit like 😉

I don't agree, should have done the research that he is reputable before hiring him!
Not then question behind his back without asking him first! probably an explanation for it.

I would just ask that's it's been inspected by the Bylaws inspector from local water co as it's clear the installer shouldn't be self certification.

Is the plumber employed by you or is he from the water undertakers or a utility company on their behalf.

Assuming you have made a new connection to the main, hence garden and driveway up. They may need to come out and inspect the trenching etc.

As has been said. Ask the fellow to explain.

Thanks for replies.
Plumber is on WIAPS.
Am not questioning competency,
just trying to understand work.
Will ask him to explain.
