Hi folks,

I've been slowly replacing and fixing all sorts of things on my boiler.

I think I am down to the last 2 things before I consider replacing the lot and wandered if anyone had an opinion on the following please.

a) The system will loose pressure over a day and half from 1.5 to 0. This looks to be coming out of the pressure release valve outlet.
b) The PRV valve looks to be dripping water out even with the pressure at 1.5 / 2 just very slowly.
c) The systems pressure will raise to 3 / 3.5 with the central heating on, not with hot water though.

I have recharged the expansion vessel. But the pressure raise still happens with the central heating.

Is it likely I need to replace both the PRV and expansion vessel, or do you think if I just replace the PRV the pressure will be maintained in the expansion vessel.

I'm very new to all this, so hopefully I've explained this right.

Cheers

Greg

Morning. Are you gas safe registered. as we cannot give out gas safe information to people that are not. If you are, you will need to contact Lou or Dan and they will move your post to the correct area and give you access to the gas safe Area. To replace the vessel with an potterton vessel the boiler has to be removed from the wall hence the paragraph above.

No probs folks apologies, I'll get another plumber in.

I've had 2 look at it over past couple of months just trying to get some second opinions before more call outs :-D

I'm not doing work myself apologies if it came over that way, I am not GasSafe. I've had a new heat exchanger fit and switch on the diverter in the past 10 months. I am trying to figure out whether it's worth saving this boiler or getting a new one fit.

Cheers

Greg
