When completing a landlord certificate, when we come across an inset gas fire it needs to be removed from the builders opening to check the flue etc. I noticed a friends fire that looked like this (See Picture). Obviously this type of fire can't be removed from the builders opening as it looks like a form of precast type.

I wasn't doing a cert on this as it already had one and passed. Looking at the state of this seems as though coals are missing and they all look a little shot. I would have said it had seen its best days.

On this type of fire can we just remove the burner, clean and do all the normal check i.e burner pressure, gas rate etc.

Sorry, just qualified and not come across this type of fire before, hence the reason for me posting this as I know sooner or later I will come across something like this.

best thing is for you might be to refresh service on gas fires, gas rate,b pressure/spilage/smoke-test

by spoiling the threads with your advertising YOU WILL NOT GET BUSINESS ,in fact you will loose your potential customers

contact moderators to advertise !!!!!!!!

It's bad enough getting idiots calling me all day trying to sell be junk I don't need, I don't need or want to see this rubbish on here when I log on to offer help and support to others. You must be very short on business if you feel the need to hijack peoples threads with desperate sales tactics.

I have no problem with Gas Rating, B pressures, spillage, smoke tests, ventilation, checking fsd's, VGA etc etc
It was the casing on the fire I have not come across. I thought this forum was for advice. Was I wrong?

Anyone know how long it takes to be let into the gas chamber or whatever the gas safe area is called? I pm'd Dan I think but haven't heard back. Admittedly it's only been a day but it would be good to know how long I can expect to wait? Cheers, CP
