Hello to all this is my first post so go easy on me!
I have a customer with an existing heating system with 2 vaillant ecotec plus 624 system boilers, there is a radiator circuit UHF manifold for ground floor and a 300ltr unvented cylinder.i propose to add a low loss header to the system as recommended by vaillant technical due to circulation problems . I know vaillant do there own headers but would like to make my own ,but have never fitted one let alone made one" but with a bit of help I'm sure I'm up to the task.
I would like to know how to size the header where to put the flow and return ports in and out and can the header go horizontal instead of vertical?also would a pump be required on the flow to the rad circuits ? Any help would be great a diagram would be useful a sketch will do thanks gazb

hi gazb. each circuit will require a pump fitted after the tee on the flow. I can knock you up a diagram, but it won't be until Thursday evening, bit busy like.

20141128_155813.jpgVA heating are the kiddies, we use them for all our LLH. Excellent service, they even drove 3 hours each way from stoke to darlington just to deliver ours so we could have it first thing rather than wait for TNT, cant do better than that:hurray:

Can somebody enlighten me on ' low loss headers' i love knowledge i do.
Header basics
All will be reviled read this page & look at the animation at the bottom.
Only thing you need to remember is that you will still need circulators on each of the secondary flows but they will be a lot smaller because the high friction loss boiler has been dealt with.

What sort of money are these? I need a basic 150kw header with 6x1"1/2 ports, not sure whether to tig weld a steel one.
I tried ringing the company above but they close early on Fridays... Thanks.
