Megaflow discharge problem

Hi

I have been to see a megaflow direct 210 litre, client was complaining that it keeps discharging periodically. I have spoken to Megaflow and recharged the airgap twice now but this has not helped as client has just called because it had discharged again. The expansion and t and p are working well and when it discharges about 20 litres are discharged at a time. They have it on a boost timer.

do you think that there could be a problem with one of the immersion heaters?
or any other ideas?

You need to question more. Was the water cold, warm or scalding hot? It would be unusual for the immersion stat and overheat stat to both fail but it's also possible that the T&P is letting go at a slightly lower temp. You also need to check the pressure reducing valve, if that is allowing the pressure to get too high, but not higher than the discharge pressure, as the water expands it will chuck a bit out.

Thanks very much, good points, the water is always scalding hot which is why I think the immersion stat has failed but as you say it could be T and P of PRV
