I was sent an engineer by Ideal Heating to fix a problem with my system. When he left he drove over a pot of sealing compound (which must have dropped out of his van) on my shared drive. My neighbour pointed it out to me since he was parked in her space. I tried to remove it with water and washing up liquid, but it has left some large white patches.

I complained to Ideal Heating, who claimed the engineer has denied doing it. I have sent them pictures of the drive and the squashed pot of compound, but they refuse to do anything about it.

Ideal don't appear to be affiliated to anyone I can escalate the complain to. I am not happy that they have taken the usual large corporation approach of denying everything and wait for you to take further action.

Apart from gong to small claims court, what else can I do? Also any suggestion on what will remove the white marks from my block paving.

I'm sure the plumber is just as annoyed at having to replace the pot of sealant when he thinks he has some, it was clearly an accident and a minor one at that.

Borrow a jet wash.

Noted - won't have you doing any work at my place. Love your attitude.

No he would go to the internet to kick up a fuss and leave it there instead.

Pick your battles, you're not winning this one without going to small claims court. Get the jet wash out clean it up and never use Ideal again, problem solved in less than 20 minutes which is probably less than you've spent on this thread.

sh*t happens
