Hello guys and gals.
My cousin called me out to have a look at her heating which isn't working. She has a Worcester combi and the hot water is fine.
When we tried to program the RF stat it doesn't seem to be talking to the reciever and calling for heat. Even in manual it's doing nothing when you crank it up to 35deg.
My first thought was that it wasn't paired so found a manual for the stat and it says that it doedn't need to pair. The stat is TH-2006RF, the reciever is a Salus RXRT505, after looking at the manual for this reciever, it does need to pair and will constantly try until it does when you switch it on.
She moved into the house in May and has only just tried the central heating.
I have a suspicion that the reciever and stat aren't compatible and whoever sold the house either messed up or deviously just stuck any old thermostat in there in the hope that my cousin wouldn't find out for months.
The stat isn't a Salus one but it does use the same frequency (868)
I'll find a couple of pics of the stat and reciever if it would help.
Am I right in thinking that she needs a new stat that is made for the reciever she has?

Here's stock pics of the reciever and stat she has. One's made by Coronado controls, the other Salus.

So, I'm right thinking that this stat and reciever that she has will never work together?

It's not a combination I've ever seen or tried. But a couple of minutes Googling has found nothing to suggest the pair you have got is going to work and, in practice, the pair you have isn't working. So, it's a stretch, but I'll go with "It's never going to work".

Actually, the Salus programmers look a bit nicer than the Coronado one so if you want to keep the receiver...

I forgot to update this post. Told her which stat to buy and when it arrived it worked straight away.
Looks like the house sellers just found any old stat and left it to make it look like it worked, wasn't until the weather turned cold that we found out.
