More Cast iron radiator problems!

Hi there

amateur here looking for help again and as always any advice is very much appreciated 🙂

We are working on a big renovation (our house and inlaws that we all chucked in for as a family) and previously had installed cast iron radiators in one half of the property. Apart from a few leeks here and there the overall process wasn't too bad/ engineer commissioned boiler fine. In this case we used fernox LSX for bushes/ stop ends.

We are now on the second half of the property/ second lot of rads and tbh its been a nightmare. This set of rads were all sandblasted and needed new bushes. On the advice of a plumber who was looking at the job we used boss white and around 14 revolutions of PTFE to seal the new bushes. Got rads in place with wall ties and engineers came to connect and commission boiler. Initially we got a number of leaks on valves themselves which were fixed however, now leaks have started on the bushes 🙁. Small steady drips but the boiler is losing pressure.

So I guess I want some advice as to recommendations for products to use/ how to. So far we're were looking at 3 possible options to fix:

(1) Fernox leak sealer that we can put through the system
(2) draining and removing all bushes to redo with PTFE and an alternative paste/sealer
(3) Bushes off again and try without PTFE/ other joint sealer?

Any help much appreciated.

*PS/technique we were advised to use/ and used for bushes was bush in left hand/ thread pointing to right and PTFE wrapped over and away. Boss white was then pasted over PTFE

Ptfe won't work with boss white use hemp you won't have a problem then

have one more Q-when the engineer came to have a look/ commission he said we'd need a plume management kit for our boiler. My Dads a former gas man (retired a couple yr) and he thinks one may not be needed...so we have a difference of opinion. As building is listed its preferable not to have one and cost implication but obviously it still all needs commissioning. These are the measurements: -Flue is below / to right of window-top of flue to top of window sill is 1.14m and actual window opening is another 3ft above sill.

It shouldn't be on if it's not commissioned

thanks again...was just on for testing-not on routinely. We never mess with boilers or gas-leave that to the professionals! Just the piping for us as we're on a tight budget.
