Doing an install today and tomorrow, subbing for a mate of mine. Anyway we get there, start to drain down the old solid fuel system, plinths off in kitchen and start running new flow and returns from new boiler location round to cupboard at side of old parkray. Five past ten and having a cuppa, knock at the door, woman two streets away noticed the van and have had no water since night before. Hot tap in bathroom won't turn off, next door neighbours tried to fix it last night but in the end turned off the mains cols at the stop tap (oil combi). Need it fixing as going to work at 10.15, my mate looks at me and I shook my head. I throws him the 15mm speedfit stop end out of my pocket and he grabs a couple of spanners, pipe slice, scre driver and sets off back withe her. 5 minutes later he's back and chucks the stop end back across to me. I said new washer in the tap, not now was the answer, the neighbour in his efforts had split the plastic back nut and most of the chrome off of the tap. My mate fixed it by isolating the ball valve under the sink to the hot tap. Personally I would have told her to go away, but not as polite as that.
