OMG! ask for advice and get a ton of s*** Come on people! unvented systems have been around in USA & Europe for years. I first came across unvented systems in Germany in 1964, it's not rocket science.
When I fitted a Heatrae Sadia unvented cylinder myself in 1980, I could'nt find a UK plumber who knew about them. For sure a wrongly installed cylinder could be dangerous, but what kind of idiot would carry out work that was beyond his competance? Safety critical work demands understanding and ability.
To add my two penneth worth!
I find it difficult to understand how a seemingly intelligent person such as yourself fails to grasp the concept of how utterly insulting you are being towards those that have trained, studied & qualified for a technical certification to enable themselves to install unvented systems both legally & safely!
There is a reason that you have to be qualified to install these systems! The first being the dangerous nature & potential for catastrophic failure & severe injury, & even death! The second being a legal requirement by Building control who are quite obviously established to regulate such installations to ensure that the previous doesn't happen!!
For the sake of not just yourself, family & neighbours & even to some extent the medical professionals that may treat those affected by the after effects of the damage a wrongly installed system can do - GET A QUALIFIED INSTALLER TO DO THE JOB FOR YOU!
Thank you 🙂
