Gents, is there any of you out there with a logburner, who knows the secret of how to get the burnt on soot/carbon off the door glass. I have tried just about everything, any ideas ??

White vinegar and a scouring pad for a nonstick pan i do it once a week and it takes seconds as long as its done regular

Spray-on furniture polish, then just wipe it off, if it's particularly bad might have to do it twice,

gents, some good ideas, please keep them coming.
Tried so far, I find the ash / paste mix/elbow grease is the best. I have also tried (when herin doors aint at home) Petrol LOL, Diesel, WD 40, T-cut, rubbing compound. upvc cleaner and White vinegar. Non seem to work.

Bod, are you using up some of your Yorkshire humor on this one mate LOL

What timber do you burn in it?
I don't know much about it, but am told you really must use dry timber 2year old if possible & don't be tempted to use any manufactured timber like plywood or chipboard cuttings or any timber with paint on it. That will mean less soot & tar hopefully.

My nephew has just popped round for a coffee.Showed me a phone photo of beast of a tree they've just taken down. Dropped the tree off at a local fishery!
I'm gutted. It would have got me through a whole winter in a few years time.

Had some spray on stuff from the stove shop which worked a treat. Quuite corrosive so wear gloves.

Ooooooh, a dab of flux on a cloth. Let it work for a mo then rub off? Would use power flow not laco or Yorkshire stuff
