Hey chaps, I have seen a few posts on here with pics of unvented cylinders you plumbed in. So am wondering which ones you went for. Am looking for a 300l one and am thinking Gledhill is a good price at £730. Has anyone installed any of these?

Cheers chaps. I hope you have all had a busy day and are in for a busy week.

I've fitted magaflo, warmflow, rm stelflow and centerstore (plumb center own brand). All a much of a muchness, wouldn't fo another megaflo (overpriced and prefer external expansion), cheapest was warmflow.

As for a busy week, yes, until Thursday and then 'leaving on a jet plane', Tenerife her I come 🙂

My only concern would be external expansion. Not a fan of bubble tops.

Cheers simon, i shall look into the warmflow. Lucky you. I have not had a holiday all year. And lately, the way business has picked up I won't be for a while.

It's sods law really. You are either quiet, and can't afford a holiday. Or, too busy and not wanting to turn down the work so take on as much as you can.

Enjoy

Can I ask why a 300L (hav ur a castle?). They reheat so quickly you don't want to store loads.
PS Have you had a look at Potterton golds ??

Have fitted all sorts, but Megaflo's are easily the most popular. Agreed, they probably are the most expensive, but you do get what you pay for. They are at the upper end of the market and their quality is second to none. The downside is that spares are very expensive, and most components are proprietary, such as the immersion heaters!
I have a Megaflo myself and personally, that would be my first choice, even though you do pay a premium!

hey, thats a good deal that. 250l for £600. Bargain
I would go for 250 (or even 210) unless it is high usage i.e. all baths being used together most people cant take a bath in less than half hour so water could reheat. Why not speak to client, a good bit of money (& Carbon) can be saved on the difference's in the standing losses between the two sizes of cylinder over their life (Gold's = 10 years but others are 25 years +)

Telford do very cheap unvented. The Tornado has a built in expansion vessel & may be best avoided as it is dearer but also I heard of one that that vessel & replacement leaked.
The Tempest has the separate vessel. Units are made of Duplex s.steel & have decent valves etc (Honeywell m.v).

i normally go for the size that fits in the space the customer has given you...... which is normally the size of a kitchen cubby 🙁. Most of the time the cylinder you want to fit wont fit........ sods law call it what you will. I call it making the plumber suffer a headache. 🙂

Mutley
